Add Heart® Facilitator

Misty Fields is a Holistic Wellness Coach and an Add Heart® Facilitator with the HeartMath® Institute. Her focus is on renewing the whole person through deeper connection of mind, body and heart. Fields’ interests include understanding and growing horse-human relationships through greater heart connection.

The HeartMath® Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, empowers individuals, families, groups and organizations to enhance their life experiences using tools that enable them to better recognize and access their intuitive insight and heart intelligence.  HMI’s Scientific Advisory Board comprises a group of prestigious and internationally recognized leaders in physics, biophysics, astrophysics, education, mathematics, engineering, cardiology, biofeedback and psychology among other disciplines.

Fields’s has a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude from Regis University where she focused on multicultural studies, human life development, and social science. She holds a Master of Arts in Biological Anthropology and Archaeology from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) where her research focused on the health of women in ancient farming communities. Post-graduate studies include the effects of hierarchy, health and inequalities in societies where she received certification in courses on Conflict Analysis and Negotiation, Interfaith Conflict Resolution and Gender Inclusivity in Peacebuilding from the United States Institute of Peace.


Her field experience includes work in the Desert Southwest (i.e., Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Sonora, Mexico). Her research findings have been published in peer-reviewed journals. Fields has taught anthropology at UNLV and the College of Southern Nevada and has been a guest lecturer for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.


Her recent training has included grief and trauma treatment with the Grief Recovery Institute, the American Academy of Grief Counselors, Trauma Institute International, and completing a pilot study with the Columbia Center for Prolonged Grief in the treatment of complicated grief. She is also certified in LivingWorks® safeTALK Suicide Prevention.
