Through Your Horses' Six Senses
Through Your Horses' Six Senses
Besides sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch, horses' survival in the wild and in domestication depends of processing those stimuli into action or no action-decisions. To not just survive, but thrive with horses, humans must influence the stimuli horses are subjected to if we want to fully enjoy horse/human partnerships.

The Masterson Method®
The Masterson Method®
The Masterson Method® is about recognizing responses from the horse to find and release tension. In contrast to traditional massage, it works with the horse’s nervous system and the horse actively participates in the process. It is something the practitioner does with the horse, rather than to the horse. This participation and interaction are what makes the method fulfilling for those who use it and transformational for the horse.

Recognizing the Horse in Pain
Recognizing the Horse in Pain
This session will address the basic physiology of pain and common behaviors and physical changes as equine pain indicators. We'll cover some common pathologies (diseases such as kissing spine, sacroiliac disease, osteoarthritis and tendon-ligament injuries, saddlefit problems) and discuss the concept and necessity of a connected horse with an engaged core. Recognizing factors associated with pain facilitates an improved human-horse bond through the ability to make positive changes in our equines' husbandry, health, tack/equipment, and riding and training.

Recognizing the Importance of Building Trust in the Animal-Human Relationship (With the Byproduct of Improving the Quality of Life for Both)
The Trust Technique® is an educational organization that highlights the value of trust for animals and people. Recognizing the importance of the animal-human relationship in both personal and sociological change, the Trust Technique helps people explore and bridge their connection to animals with regard and kindness.
The Trust Technique® is a mindful practice that is shared between the person and their animals. It is based on the theory that deepening the bond between people and animals can transform the lives of both. It uses mindfulness and focused presence techniques as a basis for resolving problems and enhancing communication.

They Talk to Me!
They Talk to Me!
Horses have many voices, their walk, trot, canter, and turns tell many stories. Being in tune with their actions and reactions will tell me what needs to be done to their hooves.

Myths of Equine Vision
Myths of Equine Vision
Horses and humans have very different views of the world, and these differences affect the way each brain experiences common tasks. How the two of you see a jump, negotiate darkness, and detect rapid motion—all this and more is discussed with respect to the horse-and-human team.

Emotional-CPR for Horsepeople
Emotional-CPR for Horsepeople
Emotional-CPR is a public health program designed to assist another through emotional crisis without fixing, advising, or judging, and is based on the three tenets of Connect, Empower, and Revitalize. Through embodied listening skills and emotional intelligence we are able to be aware of and appropriately express our felt emotions, and to handle interpersonal (and inter-being) relationships judiciously and empathetically. Awareness of one's mental, physical, and emotional state is a prerequisite and ongoing skill essential for any equine professional or practitioner whether on the ground or in the saddle.
